The Bloodhound Gang from USA have just released their new and 3rd album 'Hooray For Boobies' and keep touring the world with songs like 'I hope you die' or 'Kiss me where it smells funny'. Although their lyrics in the first view seem pretty weird, or even offensive sometimes, but if you see BHG live, you will forgive them immdiately. With their unique mixture of Hip-Hop, Rock and Metal plus coverversions of The Prodigy, Rammstein etc. they get the crowd moving, on the floor and on stage! |
German/Swiss tour with 'Goldfinger' and 'A' Feb 2000 - pics to follow! Bern, Switzerland, Gurtenfestival 17/7/99 |
My first Bloodhound Gang gig! They played on Thursday evening of the Rockwave festival in Greece, right before Afghan Wings and THE PRODIGY! We were in front row, waiting for The Prodigy, but that BHG gig just blew us away. The setlist was: Asleep at the wheel, I wish I was queer, I hope you die, Lift your head up high, K.M.W.I.S.F., W.E.A.P.O.M., Boom, Vagina, Most likely to suck, F.W.B., Bad Touch. At some point Prodigys Smack My Bitch Up was covered! (the BHG used to cover Firestarter, as I heard). They wanted girls to come on stage, and we were asked about 5 times, but noithing could mage us leave our frontrow spaces now. an amazing gig!
2 days (!!) later I saw them at a festival in Switzerland. I didnt realize they are so huge in Switzerland, the whole tent was full when they were playing and everyone was singing along, especially to 'Fire water Burn'. They again played the SMBU coverversion, but had some changes in the setlist, and also played 'Along comes Mary' which was a big hit in Switzerland at the time. Same as in greece, they made an absolute hilarious Boyzone imitation, with uniformed clothes....

Again an amazing gig! And next to coverversions of rammstein and the vengaboys we got to hear 2 (!!) Prodigy songs covered. Poison and Smack My Bitch Up! The gig was a huge success, again they got people on stage, but now more than only once, so there was a constant chaos. Jimmy Pop showed us how many useless things he can do (the banana - you have to see it yourself.., or the apples...) It was an indoor gig and once again, really really amazing!
