garbage

This pic is taken at their gig at the 'St.Gallen Open Air' in Switzerland where they headlined on sunday 28th June 98. It was quite easy to get in front there , although they are very popular here. As you can see, the gig took place in daylight.

THe gig was very good. But it wasnt crowded at all, so as a big fan of Garbage myself I could really enjoy it. Shirley didnt communicate that much. Her only (typical) words were 'Thank you very much' after each applause. (Maybe she thought the swiss peeps didnt understand her...?) Anyway, at this time I just thought it was normal for her not to talk too much during gigs.....

Then there was Readingfestival in England....

We were already very tired when Garbage were playin at Sunday night at abou 10pm, but it was worth waiting!!

This gig was just soo different! First there were far more people, also Shirley was even more the vamp. But the biggest surprise for me was, she communicated a lot with the audience! Almost after every song she had a comment. About the boots she was wearing or whatever.......She also mentioned that they were very proud, that the British fans love them.  They think they are the most important fans, cause everybody wants to be popular there..........Well, I dont mind , I guess she IS right......
