THEY WON!!!!!!! Yeah, great news is, Prodigy won Best Dance award at the MTV Awards on 12th November 1998!! This is actually important cause this award was voted for by the fans! And we were there for you!!! Thursday 12th November, 5.30 o'clock, Winterthur in Switzerland: Rulle and me, neko, (after 3 hours of sleep) leave the house and enter the train to Zurich and from there to Milan........It will be a long day!!!!!!!! 10.15 o'clock, main station, Milan: We leave the train, very excited now, take the subway and go to look for our hotel.... 11.30 o'clock, a small, 1 star hotel, somewhere in the South of Milan: We are told, that our room will be ready in ten minutes, so we decide to stay in the reception. We wonder, WHERE EXACTLY the awards are gonna be, cause on our tickets it says only 'FILA FORUM' and MILAN.... With our little Italian we dont even try to ask the lady on the desk.... Suddenly the door opens, and 4 totally freaked-out persons enter the reception. we stare at them, and stare even more as they all have some kind of backstage passes for the awards around their neck. As they seem to speak English, I just ask them, if they could tell us where the awards are. So we are told that they are outside Milan, in ASSAGO, but they dont know how to go there cause they always went by taxi..... OK, we know a bit more now...the lady on the dask tells us that from 1 pm there would be someone on the desk who could explain us how to go there...So we went to our room, took a shower and got (already!) prepared for the awards..... At 1pm we were down there, and this other lady explained us how to get there. So we tried! Busses, subway, busses....and we had to ask everybody in Italian. But, we made it! We arrived at FILA FORUM at about 2.15pm. There were already lots of People waiting under the stairs were later the people could go in.....waiting till 8pm only (maybe) to be in front row at the awards. We decided NOT to stand in line and NOT to be in front, cause we wanted to go to the aftershowparty....(NOT sweaty and dirty....) There also was this Hotel next to the FILA FORUM: The Royal Garden Hotel. Many people (Teenies) were standing at the entrance, with cameras, hold back by security guards... yeah, and so the afternoon passed....Many people were looking for tickets for the show. Imagine! The regular price was 50'000Lira (less than 20) but they were sold now for 800'000-1'000'000Lira (about 400!). So we really took care of our tickets. By the way, we still weren't really sure if Prodigy really would be there. Everybody was talking about Madonna and a certain band called 'Ultra' (sorry, I dont know them, and dont really need to know them....) But still, we really wanted to go to the aftershow party.......and, at about 6 pm, we got those tickets, for the official MTV aftershowparty. (and, no, I dont tell you how....) Yeah, now we knew that we were going to this party, so we got very excited. but we still didn't know if Prodigy would come to the awards, and even if they came we weren't sure if they went to that party.....so we had long, long 2 hours to wait.......(we couldn't eat or drink or anything else....) Still 12th November, Milan, FILA FORUM, about 7.40pm: Finally they let the people enter the Arena, it was all a big mess, but we didnt hurry at all, we would see some stars at the afterparty anyway......hopefully The Prodigy! They didnt even control the bags!! If we only had brought a camera! In there we got even more excited.....we were standing in a good place where we could see all seats where the celebrities would be sitting later, and also was it only about 10 metres away from the stage. But we still didn't know if Prodigy would be there.... Still more than 1 hour to go till the show started. Aqua went on stage and did some sort of entertainement. Also did they show on screen always when the stars arrived on the red carpet out side....... R.E.M., Natalie Imbruglia, Busta Rhymes....but NO Prodigy....and it was already 8.30pm!!! But suddenly I heard a cry: 'Keith! He has his hair.....I can see LIAM!!' YEAH!!! They were there!! Behind them, Leeroy and Maxim arrived. I was so happy to see them!!!!!!!!!! Rulle almost (almost?) had a heart attack!! We knew that we were now very very close to meet them.....:) well, sort of. At 9pm, the show finally started. We could see lots of Madonna banners, yeah, she probably also would take the Dance award home.... not! Now also the Prodigy entered the audience, they got seats jus in front row of the 'star seats'. Sitting with them were 2 blonde girls. One of them was the girlfriend of Leeroy as we seen later, the other could have been Simone Angel, but I'm not sure. They were drinking beer. As they had the TV camera just in front of them, as I know, Liam showed them to move it away. After about 20 minutes, the Dance Awards were to be announced, now we were very excited. Are they going to win?? The nominees: Big applause for Faithless and the others, HUGE applause for Madonna, but, and I was surprised, even bigger applause for The Prodigy!!! And the winners are: The Prodigy!!!!!!!! Just guess our reaction to that!!! Why the hell did Liam say, they didnt deserve it??? Nobody did more deseve it than they did!!!!! Now they went backstage and didnt turn up anymore for the reast of the show. I was actually really scared, that they had just left and wouldnt turn up at the aftershowparty...... Milan, 12th November 98, FILA FORUM: After we survived Robbie Williams and the show was over, I got really really excited! Now we had to find the entrance for that party, and after we found it, we first had to stand in line. It was on the second floor of that stadion, the whole circle around. In there it was VERY crowded.....No stars around for that first moment....since everything was free, we first had something to drink and decided to walk around a bit. It was about 11.45 and still very crowded. I thought:'No, way, Prodigy would never ever turn up here! Maybe later, but never now!' We met a guy from Ace Of Base (great, huh?) and saw some MTV people and there were LOTS OF cameras. Since we hadn't eaten anything, I decided to have a Pizza. So I took a plate with a Pizza and we walked into the room. oooooopppppsssss, wasn't that Leeroy?? My Pizza was on the floor, yeah!! There was Leeroy!!!! And next to him Liam!!! He was still wearing his sunglasses although it was pretty dark at that party. So we went there and asked them for an autograph and congratulated them for the award. Leeroy just had that huge smile on his face!! I've never seen anything like that....I think he was a bit drunk....Then Liam recognized Rulle!! (He took a picture of her with a Prodigy Banner 2 years ago when she first met him). He said he has her pic at home!! quide mad, i thought. Now the one and only Keith Flint arrived, followed by cameras and journalists and other people. Somehow we got the chance to talk to him, and I can tell you, he is VERY sweet and polite!! . Then there suddenly was also Maxim!! My first thought actually was: hmm, he isnt as tall as he seems on stage. we were talking to him as well, and Liam screamed over to Rulle to show him her (signed) T-Shirt. he he. After about 15 minutes they went away, I think there were just too many cameras and people around. I really really appreciate them for NOT beeing pissed off by all the cameras and all the people (or not showing it) . I mean, they seemed to be in a good mood! We stayed at the party till about 3am, we also had the chance to talk to Maxi Jazz (Faithless), some people from MTV, from the Danish Musictelevision, Thomas D. and Hausmarke from 'Die Fantastischen Vier', we met a guy from Manic Street Preachers and seen some other famous people.....(I actually didnt really care anymore after I seen Prodigy...) Yeah, it was great to meet them, and when I listen to their music now a I cant believe it was this guy we met there that has created all those masterpieces!
